Downtown’s Lytle Park Hotel has been recognized as one of the best hotels in the world by a leading travel publication.

The 106-room hotel – which features a gleaming wine and cocktail bar in the main lobby; a fine-dining Italian restaurant, Subito; and a four-season rooftop bar and event space – was included on Travel + Leisure magazine’s 2022 list of the 500 best hotels around the globe, released Friday.

The venerable T+L 500 list, which is not ranked, is based on readers’ responses to its annual “World’s Best Awards” survey, which polls readers on their favorite destinations, city hotels and resorts.

Lytle Park was the only hotel in Ohio included on the list.

“As one of the highest distinctions in the industry, this accolade celebrates all that our dedicated team has strived to achieve since our debut in June 2020 in an ongoing effort to make the guest experience not only the best in Cincinnati, but one of the best in the world,” said Brett Woods, the hotel’s general manager.

The hotel is located on the former site of the Anna Louise Inn for homeless women at 311 Pike St. It opened in June 2020 after years of acrimony in which the developer battled with Anna Louise residents for the right to purchase the property.

It was eventually acquired and redeveloped for $35 million through a partnership between Eagle Realty Group, the real estate development arm of Downtown-based Western & Southern Financial Group, and Winegardner & Hammons Hotel Group LLC.

Anna Louise Inn, which provides affordable housing and supportive services to economically vulnerable single women, moved to a new location on Reading Road in Mount Auburn.

The hotel, which offers views of Lytle Park, downtown Cincinnati and the Ohio River from its rooftop, is part of the Autograph Collection – a group of independent, luxury hotels within the Marriott International portfolio.
