HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two neighborhood sisters are off to Bowling Eco-friendly, Kentucky to contend in the 73rd U.S. Women Junior Golfing Championships.

Hauula natives, Mia and Ava Cepeda, certified for the tournament on June 18 at Hualalai Golf Program in Kailua-Kona.

The Cepeda sisters are coached by their moms and dads Karla and Baxter at Initial Tee Hawaii.

A milestone accomplishment for any junior golfer, but to be able to do it with your sister is even extra distinctive.

“You know every match we’re form of competing.” Ava Cepeda explained to Hawaii Information Now. “Even if we’re not in the identical age division, we’re like competing from each other.”

“We’re evaluating and stuff so yeah, but it is certainly interesting.” Mia Cepeda claimed. “It’s one of a kind in that way in this field simply because there is only 1 other pair of sisters.”

They’re also representing their hometown of Hauula.

“It’s truly neat just due to the fact there’s not a whole lot of golfers on that aspect and we the two engage in for Kahuku.” Mia claimed. “And there’s like a couple other folks, so it is pleasant to be equipped to like depict.”

The two-day tourney wrapped up on Tuesday in Kentucky and regretably, neither sister was ready to shoot lower more than enough to arrive at the trophy, nonetheless the enormous help they acquired in the course of the journey was just as worthwhile.
